Search is changing. Instead of simply displaying websites, AI-powered search tools can now assemble direct answers to customer questions. That creates a new challenge for businesses: being discoverable is no longer just about ranking on Google. It's also about providing information that AI systems can find, understand, and reference. The Easy Fish Co. has been providing fresh fish and seafood for over a decade—but behind the shop lies something deeper: an independent, family-run business with 120 years of experience in the fish trade. GD Parker & Co is the kind of business that remains the beating heart of a British high street: a family-owned hardware store offering expert advice, a wide variety of tools and hardware, and exceptional service. Q/A Questions |
Q: Is a burst of five-star reviews better than a steady trickle? A: A steady flow gives potential customers a more current picture of the business. Ask customers for honest feedback as part of a consistent follow-up process, rather than waiting for a review campaign. Q: Should a business ask only its happiest customers to leave a review? A: No. Inviting all customers to share honest feedback builds a more credible review profile. Filtering out unhappy customers can also violate a review platform’s rules. Q: What should a response to a five-star review include? A: A brief, specific thank-you is usually enough. Refer to something the customer chose to share, but don’t reveal private details about their purchase or visit. |
AI search visibility needs more than a ranking. In a new AI Answer Benchmark, AI Search Engine Optimization publishes the questions, platforms, dates and appearance counts behind its results, arguing that a strong average position means little without context. The company’s own showing makes the point: it averaged a position of 1.5, but appeared only twice. Founded by longtime SEO practitioner Phil Belleville, the firm says its weekly benchmark separates brand mentions from website citations and tracks results across questions and AI platforms. The aim is to help businesses spot sustained visibility rather than mistake a promising answer for a lasting pattern. |

AI is already reshaping dealership work—and where shoppers go next. In The Presidio Group’s survey, 68% of dealers reported positive experiences with AI, often through practical uses such as service scheduling, vehicle appraisal and review management. But Presidio CEO Brodie Cobb cautions against piecemeal tools that may not connect with a store’s core systems.
Meanwhile, CarGenius found that AI shopping answers tend to name just a handful of dealerships. Getting onto that short list takes more than collecting reviews: stores need clear, specific websites and consistent information across listings, including hours, services and phone numbers. With the sources AI consults changing quickly, today’s favorites may not stay favorites. |
